I made the Alamo Bowie after the famous Moore Bowie which Jim Bowie is believed to have carried. This pattern has an interesting fighting guard, forged from steel, used to block and catch an apponents blade. The blade is made from 1095 high carbon steel and hardened to about 60 along the edge with about 50 at the spine. This gives the very best in both edge holing and toughtness. The blade finish is gray oxide and powder coated with a tough layer of clear stain. The handle is a beautiful selection of feathered English Walnut. The Alamo Bowie comes with a tooled brown leather sheath with a rattle snake skin inlay.
