"I have been an advocate of Randall knives for over 40 years.  I've had a Randall on my side for two tours in Viet Nam with the 5th Special Forces, two years in South America with the 8th Special Forces, and over 29 years on a SWAT team.  I've never found a knife that could beat a Randall...... until now.  Your Montana Bowie surpasses all of my expectations.  I like the size, shape, strength and overall look of the knife.  This Montana Bowie will be on my side from now on.  I wish I would have had it 40 years ago.  I am now an advocate and ambassador for K.WARD HARDEDGE KNIVES." -Gary Dixon

"The knife worked perfectly for what it was intended.  We got a big 3x3 that dressed out about 160 lbs.  My buddy said he would pack the saw and had a new Columbia Alaskan folder he wanted to use.  His folding saw was old and very dull and wouldn't cut though the pelvis or the breast bones let alone the neck. His new folder was pitifully dull also and had trouble piercing the hide to open the belly. I pulled my Kelley Ward Hard Edge Knife and chopped right through as good as any sharp axe with no affect on the edge at all.  It cut through the hide like opening a zipper.  We halved the deer and put it on our pack frames with our packs. Too heavy so we field butchered it. The knife handled very well when covered with blood and with a few strokes of a ceramic rod it was ready for a close shave."

"Killed a nice buck up by Donner Pass and used the Hard Edge skinner to open and skin the animal.  This knife made the job simple and held up well still being almost razor sharp when the job was done." -Larry

"Hi Kelley It was a pleasure meeting you at the show. Now that I finally had a chance to use the knife I wanted to give you some feedback. This weekend I finally had some time to work on a wood project, involving carving and shaping some well seasoned cherry wood, and man that knife cuts like a dream. I had honed it as best I could on my waterstones, given the slight amount of recurve to the blade it was a bit trying, but the result was that I had a blade with which I could shave the thinnest bit of wood from any angle, across into and out of the grain without the slightest bit of tear out-- for hours... Basically it cuts as well as my Japanese forged spokeshave, gouges and chisels. And because of the thickness and the current bevel I'm not afraid of damaging it as I have already done to my poor delicate Japanese steel. So in a way its probably better. I don't know what the knife was intended for, but I now know it makes an amazing carving tool. I was shaving, gouging, and carving with it all day yesterday in cherry, and its showing no signs of dulling. It really can hold an edge. So thank for doing what you do, and I'm looking forward to purchasing some more of your work.. just not sure what to start with. Do you still have that chef's knife?" - Cheers, David Liu
